Here is this week's devotional:
Tuesday December 7th
Perfection in Christ
“For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Phil 1:6)
Paul is describing the process of Christian growth and maturity – putting more and more faith in Jesus – from the day we first were given the Spirit of faith in our baptism until His return, when we will be perfected. How does this happen? Paul also states “I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me” (Gal. 2:20). It is the indwelling Holy Spirit that enables us to live the Christian life. But we must abide in the Spirit, sensing His guidance, trusting in His wisdom and power. Only then will the sanctification process bring joy and righteousness into our lives and make us effective witnesses to His glory.
