YOUR SERVICE IS NEEDED
Your service is needed in some areas of our worship service on Sundays.

It would be helpful and wonderful if, when you read this small article, that you pray and think about signing up to be a greeter, lay reader or usher.  Those tiny little "jobs", serving the Lord, does not take much time at all.  If you attend church regularly, why not sign up and serve in one or all of these tiny little "jobs".  For one, being a greeter just takes about ten minutes.  You're attending church anyway. Why not greet your fellow members joyfully on Sunday morning?  Not a greeter?  How about an usher?  You don't have to greet anyone and it would be great to give the ushers who do the ushering all the time a chance to sit with their family and worship.  Not either a greeter or usher?  A lay reader!  Now that is an opportunity to read the Word of God to your fellow members!

These opportunities are for everyone.  I encourage each and everyone, families included, to sign up on the Worship Assistant chart in the narthex for the tiny little "job" you feel comfortable with.  If you do, don't forget, you can sign up a month or two from the first time.  There is only one service so it's not like signing up to do the tiny little "job" all the time.  If enough members sign up, the rotation could be a while from when you first greeted, ushered or read.  Serve the Lord with gladness!

In Christ, Barbara Grant

CALLING ALL WORSHIP ASSISTANTS - please add your name to the many BLANKS on the schedule.  The chart is on the stand in the narthex.

CALLING All  ACOLYTES
Hi there all you young adults!!

It would be great for you to sign up on the Worship Assistant sheet in the Narthex when you would like to acolyte.  The joy of serving the Lord's altar as an acolyte is a special privilege you have as a young confirmand of St. John's. After all, not everyone can be an acolyte in a red robe.  If everyone who can be an acolyte signs up, you would not have to acolyte for at least five to six weeks.  This would give everyone an opportunity to serve the Lord in this special way on a rotation basis.  Won't you sign up and if you think you can't do it, just ask Pastor and he'll guide you.  I pray you will be guided by the Holy Spirit to serve St. John's in this very special way.

In Christ, Barbara  Grant
